If you consider that Solaris Keyboard Layout should be different for your language or should be created (if it doesn't exist), you can contribute to this project. If you are interested, you can find more information about current "Solaris Standard Keyboard Layouts" and how to contribute to the project at: http://www.genunix.org/wiki/index.php/Solaris_keyboard_layouts Any comment or suggest is welcome, Best regards, -- Javier Acosta From Michael.Monaghan at Sun.COM Wed Jan 23 06:14:07 2008 From: Michael.Monaghan at Sun.COM (Michael Monaghan) Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2008 09:14:07 -0500 Subject: [g11n-hu-discuss] [i18n-discuss] Solaris Standard Keyboard Layouts In-Reply-To: <479746AD.2080303@sun.com> References: <479746AD.2080303@sun.com> Message-ID: <47974BAF.8050906@sun.com> http://developers.sun.com/dev/gadc/tools/keyboards/index.html might be of some help. I think it is something that we need for OpenSolaris and distros like Indiana. Based on the replies you made, it appears to me this is about mainly X11 XKB keyboard layout support. I think explicitly including OS level keyboard support is also important as the project title might also implying. (Plus info on how to add new keyboard layouts and possible bug filing.) I have a concern on the relationship between this project and X.org xkbdata repository. Would you please define or clarify on that? Also, it appears there are two main branches on the X11 XKB keyboard layout support development in the open source communities as you know. One being xkbdata from X.org and the other, relatively actively being maintained and enhanced, freedeskop.org's xkeyboard-config. I understand that we are currently using the X.org xkbdata. Is there any future plans on possibly merging or migrating to xkeyboard-config files? (As an OpenSolaris.org level work and/or an X.org/freedesktop.org level work.) Ienup
