Please let us know if you'd definitely want to keep and use any of the above mailing lists. Otherwise, to save valuable resource, as mentioned at above, we would like to archive and delete the inactive mailing lists at March 20, 2009. Please be aware that from this point on we would need to demonstrate the need for any new mailing list at the i18n-discuss mailing list first and then we can ask for a new mailing list. As I mentioned in my first response to you (and am still awaiting at least a courtesy--or pro forma--reply), I plan to elevate my activities in Taiwan in anticipation of the release of os0906. Since the lack of activities in the zh_TW discussion forum is largely due to our inability to provide a suitable product, I don't think it should be deleted, at least at the present time. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org From Ienup.Sung at Sun.COM Fri Mar 13 13:44:44 2009 From: Ienup.Sung at Sun.COM (Ienup Sung) Date: Fri, 13 Mar 2009 13:44:44 -0700 Subject: [g11n-zh-tw-discuss] [i18n-discuss] Some of the mailing lists in the community In-Reply-To: <1583572239.18391236974003557.JavaMail.Twebapp@sf-app1> References: <1583572239.18391236974003557.JavaMail.Twebapp@sf-app1> Message-ID: <49BAC5BC.8070900@sun.com> W. Hello Wayne, Thanks very much always for your contributions and also this message. Based on your input and message, I think that we should keep the g11n-zh-tw-discuss mailing list at least for now. I also cc'd Jim in this email for his info. Message-ID: <480088059.23741238464530796.JavaMail.Twebapp@sf-app1> Dear Taiwan and Hongkong OpenSolaris users: You may notice that a utility called "Device Driver Utility"(??????????) has been shipped with OpenSolaris0811. It provides the ability to detect hardware and driver. In the up coming OpenSolaris0906, there will be a new version of the utility and now we are preparing the translations for it. If you are interested in the program and are willing to improve the traditional Chinese version, here is a opportunity for you -- on the following web site you can contribute your translations once you are a registered user. https://cti.sunvirtuallab.com/ It is a translation portal for OpenSolaris, and you need to register at first to edit the translations. Please select "OS2009.06 - DDU" from the project list and then pick up "zh_TW" tasks. At the moment the amount of translation is not big, and it may cost you one or two hours to complete. (Note: The translation portal doesn't prevent multiple editing on a same segment. So if you edit a translated item, the previous translation will be overwritten.)
