Hi ,

I just want to make sure that make & gmake is different.
But i have downloaded the make-2.80 for sparc /solaris 8. After installing this package, the command is showing as make instead of gmake. 

while checking version of make ,it says that;

bash-2.03# make --version
GNU Make 3.80
Copyright (C) 2002  Free Software Foundation, Inc.
This is free software; see the source for copying conditions.
There is NO warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A

it says that, Again its coming to confusion.
