For those with complicated network connectivity, an installation
mechanism that doesn't require network access to get optional
components is rather important. I had envisioned this as being the
standard live CD image but on a DVD that had a much larger selection
of software.
As the size of this software grows, it would be very nice to have an
easy mechanism for building custom live DVDs (and CDs for that matter)
that have different installable software on them.
