Very cool.I think this comes pretty close to usable and intuitive.

Couple RFEs..

if the separate search popup required? I would recommend a firefox
like 'in the window' search or better yet, integration with the search
box already preset belos the toolbar. If searching for files is why
the new box is required, something like thunderbird search could be
built into the filter search box itself?

Can the information and other tabs at the bottom have tables instead
of a straight textarea. This looks cleaner and (with an alternating
white and grey color scheme for table) is easier to read.
