hmmm... digging through the cobwebs of my memory, I recall making a
makefile which would build a package for you. Edit the name and administrivia,
make, and you get a package. The hard part about making a package is not the
assembly of the package, it is the integration with the rest of the environment.
Note: it is very, very difficult to integrate with sparse or radically changing
environments. As much as people may not like MS and Apple, they do a very good
job of providing a richly featured and stable base environment.
