Uh, because it's known to work well, to be an improvement on what we  
have now, and to make a large number of users happy?

Unless, of course, there's

(a) a solid reason why it wouldn't work for Indiana, or
(b) a better alternative on the table

it seems that adopting subsystems from other distros where they're  
known to be good is a sane and plausible idea.  -Tim
