Is Indiana intended to be a base on which Sun can build their own distro? I haven't seen that stated explicitly anywhere, but a lot of the discussion seems to be centered around (1) the current state of the other distros and (2) what Sun might need from Indiana.

My own take on the Gnome versus KDE debate is that the reference platform for OpenSolaris need not include both, but that it is important to have each somewhere in the range of OpenSolaris-based distros.
