It seems reasonable to me to suggest that you involve Steve Kemp, the 
fellow in UK who's packaging the xen-tools bits for Debian and other 
platforms, in this kind of conversation -- he'll probably have some *very* 
good ideas.  [I've been impressed by the work that he's doing in this 
domain - enough to give him a +5 kind of recommendation.]
