And why is it such a big issue if, beside of the pile of code, we
have a pile of binary packages covered under the same wing? It makes
pretty good sense to me.
For instance, think of the BSDs. FreeBSD is a pile of code, but it
also has a binary distribution, and there are also third party
project which build more FreeBSD based distros.
Calling it OpenSolaris would make things easier for beginners and
would also link the project with the community. I cannot see any
disadvantage on the proposal, actually.
