That means many of us on this list will have to disagree with you. I  
believe we need an OpenSolaris distribution that's great for Linux  
users. It doesn't have to be broken the way you describe it, and  
there's (hopefully) no-one on this list crazy enough to try to do  
that. Building a Solaris that is great for Linux users doesn't mean  
throwing away all the things that make Solaris great.

But there is plenty of evidence that we need "a better Solaris for  
Linux users" and that, I believe, is what those of us on this list  
intend to make. If you are not a habitual Linux user, it's probably  
not for you, or indeed many people in OpenSolaris who are not Linux  
users.

You may get very frustrated as we discuss how to make a Solaris that  
people expecting Linux will love without needing to be re-educated  
first.  I appreciate your passion and am pleased to share the  
community with you.  But this list may not be for you - OpenSolaris  
is a big community.
