I'm going to make a bullet list, maybe that's easier to digest:

- I think I'm not wrong when I say, first priority was to get a release
out, to prove that it ain't vapourware as well as the related most
important bits currently (installer and live CD stuff) work.

- The GNU tools preference in this release is an experiment. At least
it's claimed as such. Depending on feedback, (I hope) it may just be put
at the end of the path variable.

- Same applies to the shell.

- AFAIK the target audience tends more towards desktop. Frankly, by
theory they couldn't care less what's running under Xorg and Gnome. The
thing they'd visibly missing would be ZFS.

- Indiana is not Solaris. As in the operating system product. Solaris
will not feature GNU tools as first choice. Just thought to mention that.
