[indiana-discuss] LiveCD on MacBook Pro (C2D)

Ok, strangely it doesn't boot the first time. (pressing 'C') boots the
CD then it ejects it. But then I can insert the CD again, keep C
pressed and it will start.
Sadly it didn't seem to connect via ethernet or wifi so I couldn't do
much (I did enjoy minesweeper for a while).
I've also noticed screen refresh issues so probably no nvidia drivers.
Fonts are very rugged (no aliasing) and when I selected the "LCD"
profile got a warning that the technology for pretty fonts might
require a licence from Apple (ironic seing this on a MacBook Pro).
Regarding hardware support: do you test the release on a number of
machines that you can recommend to users? For example, I know
Thinkpads work nicely with Linux so it's a safe bet to get a T60. Do
you do the same with OpenSolaris/Indiana ? For example: always make
sure that product X/Y/Z from makers A/B/C works with Indiana ?
Because it would be really nice to have some sort of driver guarantee
(besides people saying on blogs that it works).
And particularly in my case it would be nice to have everything
working out of a macbook pro so that dual-booting sounds tempting.
Apple seems especially "easy" as they have few products and a lot of
Java developers use it (so there's an incentive to try Solaris).
My 2c,
Emilian
