Nothing is sacred here - if you look at Laca's desktop status, you'll see
the initial prototype won't even include Java, since JRE 1.6 and earlier
depend on Motif.

Newboot for SPARC is in progress to avoid having to change the boot prom
for every platform - see for instance:
