Notes on included desktop environments for Project Indiana
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1. From the Desktop discussions, Vermillion 75 (GNOME 2.20) is available that will be used in SXCE b75. I'd expect this will also be in the Project Indiana Milestone 1 distro.

2. KDE 3.4.x through KDE 4.0 will support the Project Indiana distro through community efforts spawned from the KDE for Solaris project. There should be little concern or issue that KDE is NOT included on the current list of packages for the Live CD at this time. From comments, people can make their own distros with KDE, Xfce, Enlightment, and other desktop environments or window managers of their choice.

This makes sense in a way as the JDS team has spent considerable time patching and compiling JDS which Sun is using currently to replace CDE. What I would consider is adding the kdelibs 4.0 libs to the distro so users can at least run KDE applications from within JDS/GNOME. I'll bring this up at the Summit (if someone doesn't beat me to it). :o)
