I'd envisioned a similar image - with a globe instead of the letter S,
and the Sun tilted clockwise about 30 degrees from what you have. If
positioned correctly, the bottom edge of the sun could almost flow into
a continent which could follow through the rest of the letter S; in
practice, this may not work out so well. I feel the S could be removed
from the logo, as the sun imagery already presents "solar". I feel
imagery of the world or social interaction would be much better than the
state of Indiana.
