Err...  There are gnome bindings for gnome and have been for some time.  
Any why shouldn't mono be supported for Gnome projects?  Seems to me it 
would be great to see Java used for more gnome projects but why frame 
this as a Java vs. Mono thing or even that Mono == Badness?
