Which packages are included by default in SX-DE? (took me a few seconds to guess what the acronym meant) I did a quick Google and couldn't find a comprehensive list.

Off the top of my head:

1) JDK/JRE 1.4 to 5.0, as well as openjdk 6.0
2) JUnit 3.x and 4.x versions.
3) Netbeans 6.0.1 and 6.1 Beta
4) Eclipse 3.3
5) Ant 1.6.x and 1.7
6) Hibernate
7) Spring
8) Tomcat
9) HSQLDB
10) many other open source Java libraries

Ubuntu's support for Java packages is good, but it's far from perfect. For instance, they've just added Netbeans 6.0.1, and it's meant to work only with OpenJDK 6.0. Aside from basic stuff like JUnit and Ant, it doesn't have a whole lot of Java packages.

Basically, I'm just a hobbyist who wants to play with different technologies and doesn't want to futz around downloading a bunch of stuff manually.

However, there may be other Java developers that are prospective Indiana users who have more serious requirements.
