We have encountered that behavior when we were doing target discovery of
existing
ZFS pools. The problem is that "zpool export" makes the root pool no longer
bootable. I am not sure if this is bug or intended behavior, you might
need to check with ZFS team.
The workaround is just reboot without explicitly exporting the pool.
Since you already did the "export", you could repair it but booting LiveCD
and importing the pool. It allows the pool to be bootable again.
Just make sure that the pool name is not changed from its original set
during
installation.
