Hi David, thanks.

I am connected to the service processor via the network, probably ssh 
(since I confuse which one does what). The same character screens should 
come up if I am connected serially.

I will try a monitor off of the graphics port just to see what it does.

The CD should be OK, as I just used it to install on a Tecra M2.
