The PPP implementation supports the "passprompt.so" plugin, which allows
one to use an external application to obtain the PAP password
interactively (on-demand) instead of looking it up in
the /etc/ppp/pap-secrets file.  You could write a simple dialog that is
launched using this plugin.

Unfortunately, I don't know much about the specifics of how to use it,
so you'd need to do a little bit of research on your own.
