Do you really want the end-user experience of doing "pkg build-from-source
SUNWcs" and having it download hundreds of megabytes and then spend hours
building the entire ON consolidation ?
There's only a small source package corresponding exactly to a binary
package for a small portion of OpenSolaris packages - I think pretty
much just SFW and some of JDS, I think, neither of which come pre-set-up
with everything you need to rebuild their sources.
Implementing this requires re-engineering the entire build system of
the OpenSolaris consolidations, not just adding an option to IPS.
