[indiana-discuss] 700+ man pages added for OpenSolaris 2008.11

Sun Microsystems, Inc. has reached agreement with The Institute of 
Electrical & Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) and The Open Group (TOG) 
that allows Sun to deliver those sections of the SunOS Reference Manual 
(man pages) that contain portions of specifications copyrighted by these 
two organizations into the OpenSolaris 2008.11 release.  We very much 
appreciate IEEE and TOG for their cooperation in our effort to expand 
the scope of the documentation we are able to provide to the OpenSolaris 
community.

This agreement covers man pages that document more than 700 of the most 
commonly used user commands and library routines. The OpenSolaris 
community has repeatedly asked that these pages be included, and we are 
happy to announce that we can now provide them to the community.

The inclusion of these man pages brings the total number of man pages in 
OpenSolaris to more than 5500, or 95 per cent of all man pages in the 
SunOS Reference Manual.  We are working diligently to include the 
remaining pages as soon as possible.
