The OpenSolaris grant team at University of Missouri - St. Louis ( 
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/awards/awards_research_land/Proposals/CBIR/ ) had problems with audio, video, and with the package manager after installing OpenSolaris 2008.05 ( http://solaris-lab.cs.umsl.edu/trac/wiki/ ). After installing OpenSolaris 2008.11, everything worked with no issues:

"I just downloaded and installed OpenSolaris 2008.11 on our problematic laptop. The installation went flawlessly, none of the problems we incurred with version 2008.5 appeared with the new version, and the sound works right away.
