It gets worse.
I logged out. The login screen returned, and a window popped up saying
'authentication failed'.
No matter how many times I hit 'OK' the popup returns, and I can't enter
a username or password.
This came up *before* I could enter a username or password even the
first time.
I rebooted the machine, and the login screen is doing the same thing.
What happenned?
the 2 times I did su to root, all I did was create directories in
/export, and run chown on them.
I exited from su the last time tried to mvoe files in to one, and
realized I forgot the chown, and went to su again, and that's when this
all started.
I didn't muck with anything in /etc/ or any system files.
What's going on here?
