I am trying to install Indiana Preview 2 onto a spare desktop PC. The
desktop is a Shuttle SS51G with this motherboard:

http://eu.shuttle.com/archive/en/fs51.htm#mainboardfs5

Something very similar to this hardware is listed in the HCL at http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/data/systems/details/1605.html

I can boot from a CD containing the Indiana iso but after printing:

Remounting root read/write
Probing for device nodes ...
Hostname: opensolaris

the system just keeps repeating the following:

WARNING: /pci at 0,0/pci-ide at 2,5/ide at 1 (ata1):
                  timeout: abort request, target=0 lun=0
WARNING: /pci at 0,0/pci-ide at 2,5/ide at 1 (ata1):
                  timeout: abort device, target=0 lun=0
WARNING: /pci at 0,0/pci-ide at 2,5/ide at 1 (ata1):
                  timeout: abort target, target=0 lun=0
WARNING: /pci at 0,0/pci-ide at 2,5/ide at 1 (ata1):
                  timeout: reset bus, target=0 lun=0

The only other information that is printed is:

scv:/system/filesystem/root: live-media: Method or service exit timed
out. Killing contract 7.
svc:/system/filesystem/root: live-media: Method "/lib/svc/method/live-
fs-root" failed due to signal KILL.

This appears to be similar to bugs 4614976 and 4345643 but the
installation does not progress despite waiting for half an hour.

If anyone has any ideas for avoiding the timeouts, I'd love to hear
them.

Thanks in advance,

David
