Solaris has had 3D graphics support for about 15 years now, and
doesn't plan to drop it.   It was unfortunately SPARC-only for
most of those years, but 3D acceleration has been available on
Solaris x86 since nvidia released their accelerated driver
several years ago, and porting the DRI support from BSD/Linux has
added acceleration for Intel chipsets (integrated now) and ATI
Radeon R300 chipsets (available as a prototype download now).
