Dave,
there are two things happening:
1. bootadm update-archive do not finishes his work. It blocks in a
"find" which is started from bootadm. One can see this with ptree to
find the right find. I trussed this find and only see a "sleep" -
waiting for something. If I kill this find, it's going ahead, but this
someting to do right ?
2. the follow-up bootadm will finish the work, but then the next reboot
shows that the boot_archive is inconsistent. I made a trick and made a
copy of this. So if it fails to boot I use boot_archive.old (see grub
edit function during boot) to bring the system up and restart bootadm
again (+ kill find). When that finishes and I reboot it works. I found
out that I generally had to bootadm twice.
BTW: This only happens for me in: Indiana2 in xvm DomU, zvol as disc for
domU.
regards
Detlef
