O.K. You've all convinced me that the benefits outweigh the risks! I
already spent too much energy between 1985 and the mid 1990s correcting
the assumption that "Windows" and "Graphical desktop operating system"
always meant "Microsoft Windows" instead of Intuition, TOS, Beos, GEM,
Solaris, Linux, DECWindows, MacOS, OS9, OS2... and "PC" always meant
x86 processor running Microsoft Windows. The assumptions were correct
80-95% of the time which apparently is all it takes. Here's hoping
OpenSolaris becomes as ubiquitous and overused as Kleenex, Coke and
Windows.
Predicted quote from Jurassic Park VI "This is OpenSolaris, I KNOW this!"

I have followed this project since 2006 and have a large number of different SXCE installations under my belt, when I'm not installing or compiling Gentoo.. But I keep coming back for more because I really think Opensolaris has some great features and tools. As an amateur, the one thing I miss is having a clear, simple name for project Indiana. So, as someone from "the outside", I couldn't agree more with Dennis Clarke in choosing a name like Opensolaris. It is pure and simple. Easy to google and to sell to your friends..
