Halton,

I did the same thing with an HP OfficeJet Pro L7580 printer which is connected to my other computer (just to rule things out). I get proper printer detection when I reconnect/disconnect my USB connection between the printer and computer. Yet, when I press the 'Add' button on the 'Add printer' popup I get the '<printer> failed to connected' error message popup.

Also, that error message should say '<printer> failed to connect'.

Looks like ospm-applet dialog popups up, but does not add queue to
system successfully.

Suppose your printer is USB. Would you like unplug and plug again?
