First the chipset ATI express 200m works with opensolaris I'm on it now.
However, it should be noted their are several version updates.
Secondly, you should be able to support 64 bit fine.
Lastly, if you haven't already I would download and burn CD/DVD again and check checksum. 
I had a similar experience when burning on old DVDRW. The download was fine but the media was not up to the task.
