Pretty much.  This is one area that is still being worked on.  But it is
possible to install the 1st developer preview and then upgrade all of it
to more recent bits.  It's not nearly as simple as 'aptitude
dist-upgrade' but it's not horribly complex.

We do provide a single cd iso image.  However, there's no customization
possible at this time.  When you boot the iso (it's a LiveCD image)
you'll boot up into Indiana to a Gnome desktop.  There will be a desktop
icon to start the Installer which will install the contents of the CD
(very much stripped down from what you would find in traditional
Solaris) onto your hard drive.

With that said, there is a project going on right now that will allow
people to create customized images (Distro Constructor).  See:

As for package customization at install time, that's likely a future
project.
