Not wanting to apply brakes to anything, but wouldn't this be part of a 
process to overhaul the whole desktop look and feel in line with new 
branding?

I like it too, but shouldn't it be chosen in concert with other elements 
of the desktop?  Or is it that easy to change that we might change again 
later in the year?
