I will not for a second pretend to be any kind of authority on this 
aspect, but I googled a tzmon problem (not the same as yours) where 
thermal zone threshold was beinf reported incorrectly, and was worked 
around by setting acpi-user-options=2 on the GRUB boot line.

Worth a try?
