Theoretically, (I'd think... but I'm no kernel developer.) if this 
module is the problem, then skipping it should help.

So (I don't know if this will work, if there are dependencies it could 
get worse.) an alternative - If you can boot from cd or something and 
mount the disk - you could try would be renaming that kernel module, or 
editing whichever file it is that lists it to be loaded at boot, so that 
it isn't loaded.
