[indiana-discuss] Indiana test-preview 2 crashes while booting, faulty ACPI table ?

Hi,

I guess I managed to encounter a quite exotic problem ...

I just upgraded my really old S940 mainboard(GA-K8NNXP-940) with a dual core Opteron 275 processor. Since then, my installed Indiana test-preview 2 does not start anymore. Trap xy.... kernel panic something like that. Sometimes I can read some lines and the system halts, sometimes it reboots immediately. I guess that it has to do with a faulty ACPI table, because I cant use the 2nd core. It is not recognized under neither Windows nor Linux, but at least one core is working without problems and these OSes. Furthermore I never had problems with the old (single core, same revision) CPU, same BIOS and Solaris.

I loaded BIOS defaults and searched the BIOS for a "Use 2nd Core" entry, but found nothing. As it is a very old board, there is no BIOS Update and I guess the dual core support is missing or not fully implemented.

My questions to anybody who can help:

a) Where can I find an overview to the Solaris boot parameter ? I tried google, found the debugger switch "-kb" which helps a little bit, but I guess there are many, many more :) Unfortunately I could not find an documentation, besides that one:
http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/onnv/onnv-gate/usr/src/uts/common/krtld/kobj_bootflags.c

b) With Linux I can scroll up and down in textmode with Shift+PgUp/PgDn,is there a corresponding Solaris shortcut ?

c) Is it feasible to enable the second core by applying something similar like that:

? If somebody has any information concerning that problem, I would gladly appreciate any help.

thank you very much
