I remember some of my associates in Taiwan were using the shift-shift combo key to activate their IM. However, this sample size is too small. I still think the best way is to directly address this issue to someone high-up at ERI, which has about 500 developers, and ask him or her to provide their "collective" opinion. This was not supposed to be a high visibility issue, but becomes important because it conflicts with Netbeans, etc. Again, everyone needs to show support for OpenSolaris.
