Laurent,
Sorry, this was rather unclear so we're updating the services faq to
clarify this issue, should be able to see that shortly.
The faq question covers how support and IP is licensed for customers
with a paid subscription for OpenSolaris from Sun. For those customers
who want to have their systems supported by Sun that support is licensed
on a per system basis. Part of that support covers Sun creating fixes
to the specific version of OpenSolaris that the customer is running and
those fixes may apply to back revs of OpenSolaris or packages in the Sun
OpenSolaris premium repository (stuff that encumbered which we can't
open source, vast majority of which will be free as well). When Sun
fixes a bug in OpenSolaris we will integrate it into the latest version
of the code that is available to the community, some customers choose to
get that update stream pre-packaged from Sun and that's what is covered
on a per system basis under the support agreement.
The OpenSolaris release, and it's generally available updates, are of
course free, open source and re-distributable.
Thanks
Dan
