Yes, of course you can run sudo, su, etc. from a terminal to run
gdmsetup in OpenSolaris.  I meant to say that we don't support running
gdmsetup from a non-root user session via the applications menu on
Solaris.  Some Linux distros support this, but Solaris does not
currently.  Mainly because Solaris users should not be encouraged to
run GUI's as the root user.

Now that GDM is being rewritten (version 2.22 uses a completely
different codebase), and the new GDM does not yet support gdmsetup
or any GUI configuration tools, we need to rework and rethink how
this will work going forward anyway.  On Solaris, we will continue
shipping and using GDM 2.20 until the new GDM is ready for Solaris
use.
