>   I tried RC1 on Toshiba Tecra M5. After a successful install from liveUSB, I added `-s' to the grub command line to boot into single-user mode, but the text console does not come out. The progress bar indicating the boot progress keeps running. However, I can blindly type the username of root and password to enter the shell and managed to `reboot'.
