I used the sys-unconfig command, but beware: there is a bug that requires you to disable graphical boot in order to complete the configuration when the system reboots. You have to run sys-unconfig and then when the system reboots, modify the grub entry so that it boots without graphical mode. This allows you to configure networking and NIS by answering a few questions.

The graphical boot issue is a known problem and is currently marked as a P1 bug, slated to be fixed (in some way) in 2008.11.

The steps to disable graphic boot are listed on the bug report.
