[indiana-discuss] Is GCC available for installation?

Hi All,

I have only once ever been able to successfully run "# pkg install -v 
SUNWgcc" and not have the installation fail and that was with 
OpenSolaris 2008.5 (immediately following the first release). Now that 
the ips pkg repository is being updated constantly on opensolaris.org I 
have been unable to install SUNWgcc for some reason. Currently with 
OpenSolaris 2008.11 snv_98 I am able to install all the dependencies of 
SUNWgcc but not SUNWgcc itself. Is this package available for 
installation? If not why? Is there a work around? Is anyone able to 
install without failure? Which version? What is the FMRI? It has been a 
major waste of time attempting to install a working package of SUNWgcc 
so far, let me know if I can contribute to resolving this.
