[indiana-discuss] Tale of Two zh_Locales (Font Display Problem)

Serious fonts display problems are observed when running OpenOffice.org in OpenSolaris. If anyone could suggest any info or any documents where I can look for clues, it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a whole lot.

Screenshot 1 shows the font display problem in OOo dialog window running in zh_TW locale (Taiwan):

Screenshot 2 shows that the Chinese fonts are correctly displayed under same conditions but in zh_CN locale (China):

HOWEVER, when the default system fonts in the zh_CN locale are changed from "sans" to something else (e.g., deja vu books), the font display problem re-appears:

Note:

1. The above screenshots were taken with OpenOffice.org 3.0, but same problems were observed in all previous versions of OOo.

2. I did not observe this problem in Linux (e.g., SuSE, Ubuntu, etc.)
