Bugs 1254 and 1261 address preventing removal of certain packages --
though they only address Python and IPS itself, respectively. Feel free
to file a more generic bug for this ability or start a discussion about
it on pkg-discuss.
As for the slim_cd package, see bug 1617, "My hard drive isn't a CD, so
why is slim_cd on there?".

Since you've modified your installation in that manner, it may not
happen. However, normally a system that has had packages removed will
get them all reinstalled on the next image-update due to how the
packages are currently set up.
