I assume by snv_xxx you mean you're using SXCE, and by OpenSolaris you
mean OpenSolaris the OS (a.k.a. Indiana)?

If yes, perhaps you didn't know Opensolaris also allows you to upgrade
to those versions when using /dev authority, so you should be able to
use Opensolaris (and enjoy features like pkg) while still getting all
the latest fix (about one week after it's available on SXCE) no matter
what 2009.06 will be based on. ISOs are also available from
http://genunix.org/distributions/indiana/

For example, I'm using Opensolaris snv_110 (latest available) and
snv_98 on another server (because of Xen and vlan-specific problems
with scheduled fix in snv_111)
