Just to add to what Greg said, all the development work is happening
in the dev repo and the one to follow if you want the absolute
bleeding edge bits (including bugs). It's likely that /release won't
see a lot of new package action in that regard, though currently /
contrib and /pending are both built as 2008.11 as the base platform.
Once the next release comes along, we'll sync up /dev with /release
and that'll result in seeing a bunch of new packages. That's a pretty
standard approach for most community distributions FWIW.
