[indiana-discuss] Tecra M2 Graphics won't work with an external VGA monitor

I installed OSOL 2008.11 on my Toshiba Tecra M2.  I installed the correct Nvidia graphics driver so it works fine on the lappy lcd screen, but when I hook up an external VGA monitor, and boot the thing up, I see the OSOL splash screen while it boots, but when the login screen comes up, the VGA monitor goes blank, and the display reverts back to the LCD laptop screen.  Any ideas on how to make this work?
