I understand, that this reply is quite late, but maybe it will be helpful... 
In the same situation I've patched gvfs to disable gvfs-burn backend and nautilus-navigation-window-ui.xml to clean up unwanted folders from "Places".  Some places are hard-coded and you can't throw them away without recompilation... If you are interested, I can check out my old notes about SR userland configuration in SXCE...
