Those appear to be a disk/cdrom issue, which could be a problem or could
be unrelated to the GUI startup failure.

Look in /var/log/gdm/:0.log & /var/log/Xorg.0.log for messages from the
startup of the graphical interface, and check if 'svcs -xv' reports any
issues in starting system services.
