What is the point of running a true UNIX system, which supports dynamically loadable modules, if one must reboot just to load the driver non-interactively?
Rebooting is something I know in the Windows world. On UNIX, drivers are loaded dynamically, because the operating system is perfectly capable of it.
Not providing for dynamic driver loading and forcing either a reboot or manual intervention is defeating one of the major reasons for choosing UNIX over alternatives like Windows.
